Get to know me…I guess

I hate About Me pages.

I never read them. They always feel like someone was held at gunpoint and told to describe themselves in a professional but approachable way.

But apparently some of you actually wanted one, so hi. 😭

I’m Nina. I draw people-usually pretty ones, frequently ones in love, occasionally horny ones.

I’ve been drawing digitally for years, but I still spend an unreasonable amount of time staring at something I’ve painted thinking why the fuck does her face look weird, only to realize three hours later that one eye is approximately 4 pixels too high.

I love beautiful faces, intimacy, tension, expressions, bodies, little moments between people and all the things you can communicate without actually saying anything. That’s probably why I ended up making the kind of art I make.

I’m very obsessive about my work. I’ll happily repaint something nobody else would have noticed because I noticed it. At the same time, half of my creative process is me sitting there with a coffee, listening to the same song 37 times (or watching supernatural) and wondering whether I actually know how to draw.

Outside of art, I’m into psychology, music, games and an unnecessary number of random things that I suddenly decide I need to learn everything about.

I’m not particularly good at presenting a polished internet version of myself. I swear too much, change my mind about things, overthink everything and occasionally disappear into whatever my latest obsession is.

So I guess if you wanted to know who’s behind the drawings…

it’s basically just me, making things I find beautiful, sexy or interesting and hoping someone on the other side of the screen feels something when they see them.
